Naloxbox coming to all 92 Indiana counties

On February 5th, 2021, Governor Holcomb announced his initiative to place Naloxboxes containing Naloxone overdose reversal kits in all 92 Indiana counties.

Combating Overdose, Together:

When Overdose Lifeline received the  funding in May of 2020 from the State of Indiana, we hit the ground running to get Naloxone resources to you. In just 8 short months, we have provided  22,000 doses of Naloxone across the state.  We owe a huge part of this success to our partnership with the State of Indiana and the Indiana Division of Mental Health and Addiction. Thank you for helping us continue our vital work and expanding our reach even further.

Introducing our new Naloxone Project:

This funding will provide us with 215 Naloxboxes. As a result, Overdose Lifeline has committed to place at least one NaloxBox in every Indiana County.

Each Naloxbox will include:
  • 24/7 accessibility
  • 6-8 doses of Naloxone
  • Referrals for treatment

To ensure we’re distributing Naloxone resources in the most effective way, we will place additional boxes in the counties that have shown to be more at risk to overdose. Our hope is that everyone in Indiana will have access to Naloxone and that communities will come together to support those who need it most.

Call to Action: Community Partners

We are excited to begin this work and we need your help. The success of this initiative depends on the support of community partners throughout Indiana. We are currently looking for locations within each county to place Naloxboxes, along with volunteers to help us monitor the boxes. If you or someone you know would like to get involved in this collective effort, please reach out to our founder and executive director,  Justin Phillips at justin@overdoselifeline.org or fill out the request form here.
