Thank you to all who came out and participated in or supported the 4th Annual Overdose Lifeline Outpacing the Stigma 5K Run/Walk. The weather was the perfect backdrop for our 229 registered racers, and together we raised $55,780 for Camp Mariposa Aaron’s Place and Heart Rock Justus Family Recovery Center!
Heart Rock Recovery Center was opened in 2022 and provides a safe space for pregnant women and mothers ages 18+ who are in recovery from substance use disorder. The center offers kid-friendly subsidized housing and substance use therapy in Marion County to help keep families together while in recovery.
Camp Mariposa—Aaron’s Place is a free year-long program for children ages 9-12 affected by the substance use disorder of a family member. Children in the program have fun, create a community of others like them, and learn important skills toward resiliency.
The 5K involves fundraising efforts from teams and individuals. We’d like to give a special shoutout to some of our fundraising teams:
- 5K Bird Walk for Recovery – $1,225
- Michael’s Memories – $1,290
- Guys Go Getters – $4,347
- Cameron’s Crew – $5,480
- The Nick Lackey Foundation/CBTS – $18,975
Congratulations to our top three male and female finishers!
