On Friday March 6th, I was once again witness to the beauty and tenderness of the human condition. As I struggle daily with the loss of Aaron to heroin, and I continue the march toward saving other lives, I am privileged to be in a community that cares. Despite the distance and the difficult subject matter, friends, family, and strangers gathered to raise money and awareness in the fight against this NEW HEROIN EPIDEMIC engulfing our state and nation.
We are particularly grateful that elected officials Senator Jim Merritt (R-Indianapolis), Senator Jean Leising (R-Oldenburg), and Representative Cindy Ziemke (R-Batesville), attended and spoke about Aaron’s Law, SB 406. Introduced by Senator Merritt and Co- Sponsored by Senator Leising, the bill is now in the House where is it sponsored by Representative Ziemke and Representative Jud McMillin (not pictured).
We were able to provide information to those who weren’t fully aware of the devastation that is over taking our young people. Finally, we showcased the new Heroin Education Project to prevent young people from trying this dangerous drug – stay tuned for more details as this project unfolds.
Thank you for helping Aaron’s death matter and for the contribution you make to Overdose-Lifeline, Inc.
An extra special thanks to our host Walhill Farmfor their generous support. www.walhillfarm.com
