RTV6 Selects Local Winner to Represent Central Indiana at the Jefferson Awards National Ceremony in Washington D.C.
Each Month RTV6 recognizes those giving back to the local community with the prestigious Jefferson Award. For her work in spreading awareness and access to naloxone, Justin Phillips founder and executive director of Overdose Lifeline was selected as the Jefferson Award recipient for March 2016.
Each year a local winner is selected to represent Central Indiana at the Jefferson Awards National Ceremony in Washington, D.C. Justin Phillips was awarded that honor this week.
“It’s a really big honor and I just want to change the way we talk about addiction, because entirely too many people are dying,” Phillips said. “It’s the only thing I know how to do in Aaron’s memory.”
The national Jefferson Awards ceremony in Washington D.C. takes place in June.
