I had used off & on for years, but eventually found myself leaving my abusive marriage of 10 years for another man, & next thing you kno I’m pregnant & addicted to heroin, Fentanyl, & meth, & I basically mentally prepared to deliever my baby & go to prison. Thankfully I got off the hard drugs about a month before I had her, then went to a mommy & me rehab program for 5 1/2 months. When I left I relapsed again & was back out for a few months till I overdosed & it took 6 Narcan to bring me back. But when I woke up everything had changed & I decided to fight for my life & girls back. I had my first spiritual awakening without even realizing till I got to treatment and was serious about my sobriety did I learn that’s what I had, my spiritual awakening. When I woke up from my OD, the sun had never shined so bright before! It was like the want and need for the dope was just gone & I was really ready to raise my white flag.. I got custody of my girls back at 9 months pregnant with my son, & delivered my son a week later! I have 6 years clean as 5/25/19.
