REMEMBRANCES

Father

On February 7th, 2016 my father overdosed on heroin. His addiction started around the time I was born in ‘96 when he was working for Sara Lee and fell off of the lift on the truck. Afterwards he had countless surgeries on his back for herniated disks. During this time he became addicted to hydrocodone. Eventually the pain and money became too much and he turned to heroin. He overdosed after trying to quit, but he only made it a few days. I’m not sharing his story for sympathy but to help end the stigma that is addiction. So many people suffer and need help. He was a great dad, son, and brother. He is missed so much more each and everyday.
